Beginner’s Crash Course to the Elastic Stack [LIVE-ONLINE]
Event Information
About this Event
Event Description:
Galvanize is excited to partner with Elastic and Women Who Code to present a beginner's crash course to the Elastic Stack!
In life, we are always in search of something. Whether we are in search of the meaning of life or the most delicious tacos in town, we heavily rely on search engines to get the answers. You may already use apps such as Yelp, Uber, or Wikipedia on a daily basis. But did you know that these apps were built with Elasticsearch?
Elasticsearch is known as the heart of the Elastic Stack, which consists of Beats, Logstash, Elasticsearch, and Kibana. The Elastic Stack allows us to take data from any source, in any format, then search, analyze, and visualize it in real time.
If you are a developer who is looking to make data usable in real time and at scale, Elasticsearch and Kibana are great tools to have on your belt. Join us for the first part of our Elastic Stack workshop series and learn about Elasticsearch and Kibana!

About Your Speaker:
Lisa Jung is a developer advocate at Elastic. She loves geeking out over data and teaching developers how they can search, analyze, and visualize data with the Elastic Stack.
Her journey to landing her dream job as a developer advocate has been an unconventional one. After dedicating her early career to reproductive neurohormone research, she ventured into the business development and product marketing side of tech. During this time, she became so inspired by the impact that developers had and decided to become a full stack developer(JS & Ruby) herself.
She is passionate about encouraging anyone to pursue a career in tech no matter what background they have or what stage of career they are in. It is always the right time to pursue a career in tech!
