Welcome to the Beginner Strength Workshop! Perfect for those new or rusty to strength training with weights. This educational session is led by a certified personal trainer.

Have you ever felt intimidated by the weight racks at the gym? Have you wanted to try barbell training but were unsure of where to start?

Come learn how to lift at Skybound!

Most of our clients had never lifted weights before joining our community, and now love how much stronger they feel in their daily life. Our coaches have years of personal training and powerlifting experience. They’ll ensure you learn proper technique to avoid and prevent injury while teaching you the ins and outs of barbell-based training.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Pick the right exercises for your goals and current skill level
  • Perform the exercises correctly and safely to maximize results
  • Understand body mechanics and the science of resistance training
  • Plan your training schedule around your lifestyle

Frequently asked questions

What should I wear/bring for class?

All you need to bring is your water bottle (we want you to stay hydrated!). We recommend wearing athletic clothes and shoes with a more solid sole (try to avoid squishy running shoes) so you have a more stable foundation.

What is strength training?

In short, it’s lifting weights. In long, strength training is the art, science, and practice of challenging your body over time with different weighted movements. The beauty of strength training is that its benefits can be seen for both the advanced and beginner lifter alike.

Are you the same as crossfit, F45 or HIIT?

Although we offer similar equipment, we differ in our intention behind the movements. We want you to focus on each movement in a way that will allow you to (safely) lift heavier over time. We prioritize technique and proper form in our classes instead of speed.

Our boutique strength training studio offers one-on-one personal training, nutrition coaching, semi-private training, group classes, and beginner strength training workshops for all experience levels and lifestyles. Our expert coaches will ensure visitors are supported and empowered through every step of their fitness journey. The core of full-body workouts are barbell-based movements, and the right exercises will assist members in maximizing results. Appointments are required.
