Beginner Spanish Course (Group Course) – Mount Rainier, MD | Ages 16+

Not at all. While speaking is important, this course is designed to help you gain full proficiency—including listening comprehension, reading, writing, and grammar. Our goal is to help you understand the structure of the language so you can communicate confidently in real life situations.

No experience necessary. This is a true beginner-level course. We start with the basics and build toward fluency, working on pronunciation, vocabulary, sentence structure, and written expression at a comfortable pace.

This course is designed for teens and adults (16+) who are serious about learning Spanish—not just dabbling. If you want to speak, understand, read, and write Spanish with real fluency over time, this course is your foundation.

Over the course of 15 hours, you’ll develop foundational skills in: Understanding spoken Spanish Forming complete sentences Reading beginner texts Writing short passages and conversations Essential grammar like verb conjugation, gender, and sentence struct

Great question. We offer a full sequence of ongoing Spanish courses for learners who want to keep going. After this class, you’ll be ready for our Level 2 course, which goes deeper into conversation, reading comprehension, verb tenses, cultural context, and more. Our goal is full fluency for all!

Location: The Socratic School of Language 3833 34th Street, Mount Rainier, MD 20712 We’re located in the Gateway Arts District, just minutes from Northeast DC and Hyattsville—with easy access by car or public transit. There is lots of free street parking outside our location.
