Union Church and UCECP Community Member Event - Join us at Union Church of Hinsdale for an evening of mahjong! Mahjong is a centuries-old tile game that is steeped in history, art, and tradition! This beginner lesson is designed for men, women, couples - all are welcome who might like to learn! Lisa from The Mahjong Guild will be on hand to teach all the beginner basics: from the tiles, the player card, and how to deal, to finding your best hand and much more. Come learn something new in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere!
Ticket includes:
- All mahjong game pieces, accessories, cards, and teaching suppplies
Evening Timeline
5:45-6pm • Players arrive, mingle, find a seat
6-7:15pm • Beginner players learn brief history of the game, the tiles, and are introduced to the mahjong card.
7:15-7:30pm • Brief short break for refreshment
7:40-8:00pm • Dealing and the Charleston
8:00-9pm • Mahjong game play
