About this event

In this 3 hour class you’ll use a small torch to shape colorful glass rods into beautiful beads! You’ll learn about:

  • flameworking equipment and safety
  • shaping glass with heat and gravity
  • using metal tools including pliers, dental picks, and the table itself

No experience needed, all materials are provided. Come as a beginner, leave prepared to continue making glass beads at home (or at Lansing Makers Network!) on your own.

What should I wear or bring to the class?

Wear closed toed shoes and natural fiber clothing (e.g. cotton, linen, wool). Tie back long hair and avoid long sleeves that dangle.

Safety glasses are required and will be provided, but if you have a pair you’re comfortable in, consider bringing your own.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

This workshop is only for those 13+. (Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult)
