Beginner DJ Workshop with nextdimensional [ONLINE]

This two-part Beginner DJ workshop will be held on 12/14 and 12/21. Each session will cover different material (outlined below), and you're welome to attend either or both. A laptop and headphones are required; no other gear is necessary. If you have a DJ controller you can use it in class too, but I will make the workshop adaptable for all.

No experience necessary, beginners encouraged! If you are a brand new beginner, make sure to attend both workshops (not just Workshop 2) as the material will build on itself from Workshop 1.

The Beginner DJ workshop on 12/14 will cover:

-Gear orientation (we will use free Rekordbox software and I will demonstrate on a Pioneer XDJ Controller, but only a laptop is necessary for this class)

-Rekordbox 101 (why do DJs use it & how can I easily set it up?)

-Hot cues

-Beatmatching basics

-Simple transitions

The Beginner DJ workshop on 12/21 will cover:

-Rekordbox workflows: music organization, prepping a setbeat grid adjustment

-Intermediate transitions

-Mixing in key

-Performance etiquette

This will be a very low-pressure, judgment-free environment for anyone who feels a bit nervous learning a new skill. All are welcome! :)
