We are the Illinois Brewery Running Series and we run for beer!

Times have been crazy, but we are excited that we are back to hosting live in-person events where we can be active, have fun, and give back SAFELY!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Everyone will need to pick, and stick to their designated start time and respect safety guidelines as they pertain to COVID 19. Please keep an eye out for all specific event details and be prepared for any additional adjustments needed.

Join us at Great Central Brewing on July 19th @ 10AM or 11AM for a 5k-ish course that starts and ends at this awesome West Loop brewery. Weave through the surrounding area at whatever pace you like, no matter what there’s a beer waiting for you at the finish line!

Special note: Great Central is not open for indoor dining yet, however they are opening for the Brewery Running Series community to get to-go orders at this date. We are encouraging participants to bring a picnic (which you can leave any chairs, etc with the Brewery Running Series staff while you run) and head to Union Park just a couple of blocks away after your run to enjoy the wonderful Chicago summer, socially distanced of course! Be sure to follow all rules of the park <3

We are all about being active, having fun and giving back to our local community. Since our inaugural event (the Brewery Running Series was founded in Minnesota in 2012), we have been able to donate over $160,000 back to local nonprofits. 10% of all proceeds goes directly to Chicago Run and Chicago Parks Foundations, awesome local organizations that make Chicago a great place to live. So not only do you get to a little exercise and enjoy a great beer, you are contributing to our awesome community!

We are taking all necessary precautions regarding COVID-19. We will be sending a detailed email to participants the week of the event of everything to expect.

Registration is limited, so sign up today!

Important details:

Upon registering, you will be promoted to sign up for a 10am wave or an 11am wave. We will be keeping these waves at a reduced number due to COVID-19. Please arrive no more than 20 minutes prior to check-in. Don’t forget some extra $$$. In addition to your beer discount and swag there will be merchandise for sale, and plenty more beer!

If you are already signed up for this run, you will receive an email prompting you to select your 10am or 11am wave. Smiilarly, you must stick to the wave you select. We cannot make changes on-site.

This is an untimed, 5k-ish fun-run. All levels of walkers, runners and joggers are welcome.

This is an open course, meaning roads will NOT be closed. You are responsible for obeying all traffic laws and regulations.

We create each route to start and end at the brewery and to show off the surrounding neighborhood.

You must bring a valid ID or driver's license. You do not need to be 21 to enjoy the event, but you must be 21 to enjoy the beer. Please drink responsibly. (Registered, underage participants will receive a wristband for a FREE non-alcoholic beverage)

Our events are rain or shine! If conditions become unsafe to run, we will be publishing the recommended course and you can choose to do it another day, but you'll be able to get your beer and swag on site.

There will not be a bag check; please plan accordingly and dress appropriately for the weather.

There is public parking available.We always encourage carpooling and safe, designated drivers.
