What You’ll Do:

  • Suit up and open a live Langstroth honeybee hive

  • Taste raw honey straight from the comb as well as several stored varietals.

Protective gear will be provided to borrow but you are welcome to bring your own suit!

Frequently asked questions

Will I get stung?

Stings are unlikely but possible. We provide full bee suits to borrow and work with gentle hives to keep everyone safe, but we can’t guarantee zero stings. If you’re allergic, this experience is not a good fit.

What do I wear?

Light summer clothes and closed-toe shoes—boots are best. You’ll be wearing a full bee suit over your outfit, and boots help keep the pant legs sealed to avoid spicy ankles (aka bees where you don’t want them).

I teach people how to work with bees--whether you’re just curious or thinking about starting a hive of your own. My events focus on hands-on learning, covering everything from how a colony works to what it takes to keep bees healthy and productive. I’m a certified Advanced Beekeeper through the Texas Master Beekeeper Program and love helping others get started the right way.
