Join us for a special evening as we celebrate the opening of the final exhibit at the Anacostia Arts Center before it embarks on its exciting next chapter.
For over a decade, the Anacostia Arts Center has been more than a space. It's been a home, a launchpad, a creative sanctuary, and a gathering place. As we prepare for a major renovation, we invite you to reflect with us on the stories, faces, and voices that have shaped this beloved space.
“Beautiful, also, are the souls” is a powerful photo and oral history exhibit honoring the artists, entrepreneurs, and community members who have made the AAC a cultural anchor in Ward 8. Produced in partnership with The DAP Project and generously supported by HumanitiesDC, this exhibit is a celebration of community, memory, and legacy.
Opening Reception Highlights:
- Meet the Faces Behind the Stories: Connect with the individuals featured in the exhibit as they share personal reflections on the AAC’s impact.
- Panel Discussion: Hear from the creative team behind The DAP Project as they discuss their process and vision.
- Exhibit Preview: Be among the first to experience this deeply moving collection of photography and oral history.
- Food, Drinks & Music: Enjoy local bites, refreshments, and music in good company.
This evening is both a celebration and a sendoff. Come honor the past, uplift the present, and toast to the future of the Anacostia Arts Center.
RSVP today—we can’t wait to welcome you!
