Bears Ears National Monument- Women's Backpacking Trip
Overview
Welcome to the Bears Ears National Monument- Women's Backpacking Trip!
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure in rugged canyon country. Join us for this 4 day/3 night backpacking trip through spectacular, pristine terrain. We will bear witness to the incredibly rich Indigenous history of the area and gain a deep respect for why this area deserves our continued protection.
On our drive there (transportation from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is included), we will stop at Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park to see some amazing views, check out the museum and have the option to go on a 1 hour horseback tour through the valley. From there, we will continue on to our staging campsite for the night.
Early the next morning, we will pick up our permits at the Bears Ears Ranger Station and start our adventure!
On our last day, we will drive back to Phoenix, arriving in the evening. You will need to provide your own lodging for that night.
Expect to hike with packs between 6 and 10 miles per day over rugged terrain. There will be some rock scrambling and short up and downclimbs. Each campsite we stay at will have a spring or other water source nearby.
You will need to bring your own backpacking gear for this trip, though some items may be available to rent or share. A complete gear list will be provided for you, along with a preparatory zoom meeting for q and a/ trip details.
This trip can feel quite challenging but is a great way to see the immense beauty of a less traveled park and learn how strong you truly are!
This trip is the perfect opportunity to explore the beauty of Bears Ears with a group of like-minded women. Don't miss out on this chance to create lasting memories and immerse yourself in the great outdoors. See you there!
