About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Life has a way of making us start over every few years. Relationships change, kids leave the house, you move to a new city, start a new job… or even just wanting to change the routine you’ve been stuck in for a while now.

So if you’re new to BCO or curious to discover the ins and outs of what our social, outdoor activity group is about? Perhaps, you’re a little nervous about attending an outing alone.

This event is designed specifically for YOU!

Whatever your questions and reasons for attending, DO IT! You’ll meet folks in the same exact boat as you, and you’ll learn a whole lot about the upcoming fun Bayou City Outdoors has coming your way.

Our calendar can be a little overwhelming with 40+ events every month, so let us explain some of our favorites, and tell you everything you need to know about being a BCO member.

If you’re looking for friends who:

1. Want to get out of the house and explore Houston

2. Have similar interests such as hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, etc

3. Want to try new things even if they don’t really know where to start

4. Don’t cancel on you last minute, even if they were the ones who invited you first!

5. Want to Travel around the US and Internationally

And much much more!

Then you’re in the right place.

Join us in person at Becks Prime as we talk about:

1. What BCO is all about

2. What’s on the calendar and where we are going

3. What you get as a member of BCO

4. And if BCO is for you!

5. PLUS, when you attend live in person, we’ll tell you about a BONUS available to you.

What to expect at the event:

We work hard to make this event a little more “formal” (if we could ever be accused of that) than our “Meet & Greets.” We’ll have a presentation, Q&A and social time, too. Some of our Event Leaders will also be on hand to talk about their upcoming events! Make new friends and learn about all the fun you’re about to have in Houston and worldwide!

Special Gifts:

When you attend, you’ll find out about our special gift and how you can take it home with you!

How to find the group:

Look for the BCO sign. We’re usually in the small room that you can see from the counter where you order food. Ordering food and drinks is counter service so grab something when you arrive.

Cost:

The event is free; however, you pay for any food/drinks you order. Please help support our partner so we can continue to have large events. $1-2 parking fee (subject to change).

Parking:

Parking in front of Beck’s; we share a lot with the golf course. There is a pay station in the parking lot.

If you have questions that you would like for us to cover, please submit them to info@bayoucityoutdoors.com.

FAQs

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Typically most BCO events are for adults.  But, we do love kids.  If you believe your child is capable of keeping up with the group, no problem.  AND if this is a bike ride they MUST wear a helmet.  Questions?  Contact us at info@bayoucityoutdoors.com

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

We add parking details to the Event descriptions.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

If the temperature is above 80 or it very clearly says "No Dogs" then please don't bring your dog.  We LOVE dogs and only make this rule if we feel there could be a safety concern (for the dogs of course:).

BIKE: If it is a bike ride: Bring a helmet or borrow one from us.  Helmets are the single most important piece of gear you can have on a bike ride.  Anyway, any time you are wearing a helmet you must be having fun!

Bring water.  Frequently our events are in the woods or out of the way.  Water is important.

HIKE: If it is a hiking event wear comfortable shoes.  Athletic shoes, hiking boots, running shoes, just be sure your feet will be happy.

SOCIAL: If it is a social event?  Wear whatever YOU feel comfortable in.  We are an eclectic mix of people with all types of interests and jobs.  People will come straight from work in a suit or jeans, straight from running or working out, and some of us even come cleaned up straight from the shower!  (and everything in between)

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

info@bayoucityoutdoors.com or 713-524 3567

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes

Can I update my registration information?

Yes

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Printed ticket or download the EventBright app and bring it on your phone.

What is the refund policy?

Refunds up until 48 hours before.  Or, better yet, get some goodwill by sharing your ticket with a friend.  They will love you even more after all the fun they had at the BCO event!

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

Yes - see love & friendship above!
