Build your spatial analysis skills! This popular workshop covers the basics of ArcGIS Pro, Esri's industry-leading desktop GIS software.

Session 2 of BayGeo's popular Intro to ArcGIS Pro! (this is a repeat of Session 1)


Workshop Overview

Learn the basics of Esri's industry-standard ArcGIS Pro software with a patient, skilled, and supportive instructor. By completing this workshop you will be able to:

  • Design a professional-looking map
  • Utilize ArcGIS Pro to manage and analyze a variety of geospatial types
  • Work with geoprocessing tools to deepen your analytical capabilities
  • Understand the basic principles of map projections and coordinate systems

We welcome all learners with an interest in geospatial software, whether you are at "square one" or have previous experience. Many of our previous students have tended to be “non-traditional students”, in the sense that they are either recent graduates or are currently in the workforce. Such students take workshops like Intro to ArcGISt to build skills and enhance their career opportunities. Several students have expressed interest in transitioning to GIS-related careers.

Workshop Requirements: Participation in this workshop will require access to a computer with Windows 10 or 11 operating system. (There are options for Intel-basedMacs to accommodate Windows, such as Apple's BootCamp. Macs with Apple Silicon chips can run Windows via virtualization software like VMWare Fusion or Parallels).

Your Instructor, Moumié Maoulidi

Moumié Maoulidi's passion for GIS is rooted in a conviction that, in an ever-changing world, geospatial data helps people solve real world problems. He currently works for the City and County of San Francisco (CCSF) and prior to that, he worked in academia, UNICEF, and the private sector. Moumié has a Ph.D. in Economics and Education and an Ed.M in International Education Development from Columbia University. BayGeo workshop students consistently note that Moumié is a patient, skilled, and supportive instructor.
