Event Details

22 for the 22 March Video

EMPACT-Suicide Prevention Center and Rally Point Arizona invite you to join us for a friendly 5k run/walk competition representing your favorite military branch! The Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy, and Marines will all be represented for this community event. The branch with the most participants will earn a prestigious trophy and bragging rights for one full year!

Our event also features a road march by 22 Veterans signifying the 22 Veterans lost to suicide every day (on average), and a moving "22 for the 22" ceremony honoring Veterans and their families. Other activities will include vendors, exhibitors, music and a children’s activity center.

Military service members, Veterans, and their family members often face special challenges transitioning and adjusting to civilian life during and after their military service. It is estimated that 1 in 5 Veterans will struggle with substance abuse, relationship issues, stress, hopelessness, and thoughts of suicide. The suicide rate of Veterans is substantially higher than the general population -- reported to be 22 Veterans per day.

Veterans and their family members often require specialized and personalized navigation services to assist them in successfully accessing the services they need due to the complex nature of the social/welfare, medical, vocational, and other support systems.

Rally Point Arizona “Military Navigators” are specially trained military Veterans who provide peer-based assistance in securing medical services, housing, employment, and other individual and family needs. The need for these services is substantial. Phoenix has a metropolitan population exceeding 4,000,000, including over 300,000 Veterans and over 10,000 current military personnel (including Active Duty, National Guard and Reserves).

Sponsorship, exhibitor, vendor and Veteran Service Organization tabling opportunities available. Please call (602) 672-9464 for information.
