About this event

Home & Lifestyle • Home & Garden

Join us for an inside look at Bastrop Passive — a high-performance home currently under construction in Bastrop, TX. This is a rare opportunity to see real-world building-science details before they’re covered up.

The walkthrough highlights practical methods for achieving comfort, durability, and efficiency in a hot-humid climate. We’ll explore how air, water, vapor, and thermal control layers work together, and how mechanical systems integrate into a high-performance envelope.

Instead of a formal presentation, this event features a self-guided tour through key details of the project. Each station includes short explanations and visual documentation of assemblies, air-sealing strategies, HVAC design, and other critical elements.

Hosts:

Kevin Witt, Architect & CPHC

Scott True, High-Performance Builder

We’ll both be on site to answer questions and discuss lessons learned in applying Passive-inspired principles in a cost-effective, buildable way.

Lunch will be provided courtesy of our event sponsors.
