This Basics class will run 1.5-2 hours and cover the foundational knowledge needed to use the equipment detailed in the class description below. Demonstrated proficiency is required before using any equipment independently at Lacey MakerSpace. Individuals are welcome to take multiple Basics classes until they feel confident starting their own projects. For more in-depth, project-based instruction, we also offer workshops and one-on-one mentoring.
In this hands-on welding class, we will cover introductory methods for MIG welding two pieces of steel together. Students will leave class with a custom welded nameplate.
As with all Basics classes, this offering is free for LMS members. While not required, we appreciate donations in any amount to help cover consumable costs. Please speak with a staff member if you’re interested in contributing.

-----------------------------
Starting July 19th 2025 we will be instituting a $10 no-show fee for LMS members who don't show up for the classes they sign up for. These fees will be charged to the card we have on file. This fee is being implemented due to a pattern of members not showing up to our classes. Our classes have a limited amount of slots and we want to serve as many attendees as possible.
Please visit our policies page to view all LMS policies. Prior to your first class, be sure to familiarize yourself with the User Agreement/Code of Conduct and Liability Waiver. The Liability Waiver must be signed in person at the front desk before participating in any activities at Lacey MakerSpace.
