Come and join Mandy Sandbach of SOULfully SOIL at the River John Community garden located at the Community Support Society/Food and Health center in River John Nova scotia to learn the Simple Skill of making your own Natural Leaven Sourdough. There is SOOO much mystery surrounding this very simple and easy to follow way of making traditional bread. Mandy will walk you thru pitfalls, ways to ease the process and how to successfully make your own bread at home
Please bring a 500 ml glass jar to the class if you want to take home your own starter
The River John Community Garden is in its 2nd year of growth and as we continue to expand and serve our community, we would like to offer these " by donation" workshops and classes to help community learning. One of our mandates is to increase knowledge and skill sharing in the areas of sustainable growing, food harvesting and preservation.
This workshop will be held Wednesday November 26th with a 6 pm start on site at 2456 River John station road in Welsford.
This workshop will be indoors and demonstration styleThis workshop is being held by donation with a suggested donation of $15 going towards future workshops, skills shares, garden supplies and programming.
The idea for these knowledge shares, is to offer barrier free programming. If you are in a position to be able to offer a donation of cash or food, we would gladly accept. If you are not you are absolutely welcome to attend.
