I've operated chainsaws for years. Should I still take the training?

We love it when experienced sawyers take the training. And almost all tell us that they learned something they didn't know or enjoyed seeing how we approach a disaster site. We also need experienced people to help us with training. Please show up, listen, and volunteer to help in the field exercise.

What if I don't want to operate the chainsaw but just wish to attend?

Sign up and attend. For every person operating a saw we need a team of 3 to 5 others pulling limbs, monitoring safety, and keeping saws running smoothly. Everyone can help.

What is the cost of the training?

What is the age requirement for this training?

Accepted Answer

You must be at least 18 years old to operate the chainsaws in the field exercise.

What are the physical requirements for this course?

Accepted Answer

This course requires practical application of skills learned, which entails standing, kneeling, and reaching while holding a running saw. Balance, hand to eye coordination, and good judgment are all vital abilities.
