About this event

  • Free venue parking

In this class, we’ll cover the basic machine operation of the Lacey MakerSpace CNC routers. You will learn the safety procedures to control the machine as well as beginner concepts of routing and milling.

We will show you how to do simple designs in Easel Inventables; an online software available for CNC routing. We will also go over material selection, proper tooling, speed and feeds, and mounting procedures that are dependent upon the type of operation being performed and related safety practices.

Successful completion of this course will qualify you to use the CNC router independently at LMS. As part of the class, you'll be asked to complete a practice cut to demonstrate proficiency.

Come prepared to learn as this will be a rapid fire class covering a lot of material!

The Liability Waiver must be signed in person at the front desk before participating in any activities at Lacey MakerSpace.

Closed-toed shoes are required at all times at the Lacey MakerSpace.

Member Note: Starting July 19th 2025 we will be instituting a $10 no-show fee for LMS members who don't show up for the classes they sign up for. These fees will be charged to the card we have on file. This fee is being instituted because we have had a pattern of members not showing up to our classes. Our classes have a limited amount of slots and we want to serve as many attendees as possible.
