Is this an online event?

Yes. This is a live, interactive course conducted entirely online via Google Meet. A stable internet connection is required.

How many sessions are included?

This is a comprehensive, 9-week course running every Saturday from November 15, 2025, to January 10, 2026.

Do I have to register for all 9 sessions or could I drop-in for individual sessions?

For consistency and commitment, is best if you attend all 9 sessions in order to fully learn the fundamental techniques of drawing, without falling behind your peers. However, you have the option to enroll for individual lessons, in a 'drop-in' basis, if you are not ready for a 9-week commitment.

What level is this course for?

This course is designed for beginners. If you have some experience but feel your fundamentals are weak, you are also welcome!

What time zone is the class held in?

We'll meet online on Saturday mornings; all sessions are held at 10:00 AM EST (New York Time). Please double check against your local time zone: 7:00am – 8:00am (LA, PST); 8:00am - 9:00am (Utah, MDT); 9:00am – 10:00am (Texas, CST); 10:00am - 11:00am (D.C., EST).

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

Tickets for the 9-Week Drawing Bootcamp are non-refundable. However, you might be eligible for a full refund only if your cancellation request is submitted at least 24 hours prior to the first session (November 15, 2025). Cancellations made after the course has begun are not eligible for a refund.

The ABCs of Drawing: Materials orientation, proper grip, mark-making exercises, and understanding basic pressure control.

Week 2, November 22, 2025: Mass, Shape, and Form 1

Introduction to blind contour drawing for improved observation, and stimulate eye-hand coordination. Simplifying complex objects into basic forms.

Week 3, November 29, 2025: Mass, Shape, and Form 2

Moving from 2D shapes (circles, squares) to 3D forms (spheres, cubes). Understanding geometric structure.

Week 4, December 6, 2025: Introduction to Tone & Value (Grayscale)

Mastering the gray scale. Creating smooth, graduated shading to define light and shadow.

Week 5, December 13, 2025: Color Theory I: The Color Wheel

Understanding and creating a basic color wheel using color pencils (primaries, secondaries, tertiaries). Introduction to Hue and Temperature.

Week 6, December 20, 2025: Color Theory II: Layering & Blending

Layering multiple colors to create tints, shades, and complex tertiary colors. Burnishing (heavy pressure) to create smooth, polished blends.

Basic Perspective: The illusion of depth. Simple 1-point perspective and establishing the horizon line and vanishing point.

Placing the focal point using the Rule of Thirds. Using directional lines to lead the viewer's eye. Understanding visual balance.
