Description

At BART for 32 years, Michael C. Healy headed three divisions: Public Information, Marketing and Research, and Customer Service, and served as BART’s chief spokesperson. Upon retirement in 2005, the late Rep. Ellen Tauscher congratulated him on the House floor and entered his name into the Congressional Record. Before joining BART he lived on a Sausalito houseboat and was managing editor of Marin Guide Publications, a semi-weekly newspaper. He worked for CBS in Hollywood, and as a contract writer for radio in New York. In the early 1970s he took time out to write “The Dirt Gang,”a raucous motorcycle film. He has written a book about BART, numerous articles on transportation, and is now a contributor to Oakland and Alameda magazines. Mike lives i in Oakland’s Montclair District with his wife Joan and their dog, Bella.
