This hands on workshop with award winning artist Barbara Hack is designed to take you through a classically inspired approach to painting the head/ portrait from a photo reference. All four stages of the painting process will be covered, including under painting . The emphasis will be on improving color , drawing skills , value relationships, understandmg edges, and capturing the feeling of light . Through a series of demonstrations, guided exercises, and one on one Instruction , attendees will learn how the power of light and shadow add dimension and drama to a portrait . Barbara's intention is to help you enjoy the dificultes of this challenging subject. All levels are welcome.
