Bankruptcy Class
Overview
Learn the realities and myths of bankruptcy, the differences between Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies, how to represent yourself in court, and alternatives to bankruptcy. You will also find out how to apply for a pro bono (free) attorney to file your Chapter 7 case.
The class is offered virtually through Google Meet (be sure to check the bottom of your emails from Eventbrite for the online meeting link).
NOTE: The free Bankruptcy class offered by Legal Aid Center is not the credit counseling session that is required before you file for bankruptcy. For information on approved credit counseling agencies, please visit our Bankruptcy Links page.
In addition to this class, Legal Aid Center also offers 15-minute phone consultations through our Debt Collection Ask-A-Lawyer program. To learn more about other free English and Spanish classes about divorce, custody, small claims, eviction sealing, and other topics, visit www.lacsn.org/classes.
