This hands-on workshop will teach the beginner baker how to make artisan sourdough bread.

Just getting started with sourdough and wondering why you have to throw away some of your starter? Good news, you don’t have to! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn what sourdough discard really is, why it’s part of the sourdough process, and how to use it in creative, waste-free ways. Together, we’ll bake delicious recipes like chocolate chip cookies, cheesy crackers, and sourdough flatbread pizzas while covering simple tips to make the most of every bit of your starter.

Details:

  • Youth, ages 8-17 are always welcome to purchase a seat in classes, but must attend with a paid accompanying adult.
  • Expect that you may be working alongside a partner. If you do not attend with a friend, you may be working with someone you hadn't met before the class.
  • Please wear comfortable, clean clothing and closed-toe shoes, with the option to roll up your sleeves and tie back your hair.
  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to get checked in.
