Adulthood is weirdly lonely. We work. We commute. We run errands. And somewhere in all that, making friends gets… harder. Joy starts to feel like something you have to schedule. Play feels like a luxury you haven’t earned.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
The ¡Baila! Block Party is one night to remember that connection is still out there—
and it might be just down the street. We’re shutting down Sidney Street (right in front of University Park Commons) and turning it into a dance floor, a pop-up playground for overworked humans, and a place where you can actually talk to people—without pretending you’re networking.
- Open to everyone
- Latin music & dancing in the street
- Lawn games, light bites, & small whimsies all provided
- Bring a blanket. Bring snacks. Bring your real, weird self.
This whole thing was dreamed up by one grad student—with a big heart, a tiny budget, and a few wonderful friends who believe city life can still feel like belonging, if enough of us decide to make it that way.
Tickets are pay-what-you-can.
Joy shouldn’t be behind a paywall.
Come as you are. Give what you can. Just don’t miss it.
