About this event
- Event lasts 3 hours
- ALL AGES
Bad Art Club is flipping the script on what makes art "good" or "bad". The point is not what you make, it's how you feel making it. Whoever makes the worst art wins, and zero experience is encouraged. You're likely to gain a lot of inspiration, creative confidence and new friends in the process.
This time we're going to use paints, magazine clippings and random objects to express our mixed emotions. We're going to envision a better world and make really profound, super sh*tty art about it. We're going to play like our lives depend on it. We're going to break all of the rules, and relish in the opportunity to genuinely connect with other humans.
Bad Art Club is an experience unlike any other...so make sure you show up totally unprepared. This is not your typical art class! Best to leave your expectations at the door.
In this experience you will:
- Have the freedom to f*ck around and find out.
- Rid yourself of doubt and hesitation.
- Tap into your radical self expression.
- Unlock new levels of creativity.
- Get inspired by the weirdos around you.
- Blast open the permission you give yourself to do things that feel good without attachment to outcome.
Bad Art Club is a fully facilitated experience that is designed to transform your relationship with art, yourself, and the communities that you're a part of. Come exactly as you are, alone or with friends. (From personal experience, showing up alone often leads to a lot of magic).
All art supplies will be provided for you.
Now... let's make some BAD ART!
Bad Art Club is brought to you by Jules Costa. In addition to being a Creatrix of bad art, Jules is a Transformational Speaker & Facilitator in San Francisco. She gets off on structured chaos, and can't wait to get messy with you.
Frequently asked questions
Yes (unless otherwise mentioned in the event description). You'll have access to all of the materials you need (and some) to let your creativity roam free.
You are still welcome to join us, and I hope you do! Email badartcontact@gmail.com so I can add you to the list, and donate whatever feels good for you at the door.
Bad Art Club is a transformational group experience, so it's important that we're all there to begin on time! Doors will open just before 6pm and close at 6:15pm, so please arrive early. It's OK if you need to leave a before the end, but please give the facilitator a head's up when you arrive.
Just be yourself, however you are that day... High and low vibes are equally welcome. Be open to radical shifts in perspective. This is a sober event where we will be expanding consciousness together through art and connection. Drink water, eat dinner, and throw on Do Not Disturb.
Yes! Bad Art Club is held regularly and features a different (exciting and experimental) medium each time.
