Event description
After one year off, the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival returns for its 14th year at Horizon Events Center on February 26, 2022.

About this event

The 2022 theme, “Bacon Gras: A Ragin' Cajun Bacon Celebration”* will feature bacon-infused Cajun dishes along with:

  • Bacon Bourbon Street – Mardi Gras Beads will rain from the surrounding balconies while bacon-lovers are dazzled by street performers and local musical acts; The Snacks, Britches & Hoes and DDEP.
  • The Bayou Hall – Begin the day by eating some bacon and taking in tunes by Americana singer/songwriter Owen Justice. Then brace yourselves for IMPACT Pro Wrestling featuring 3 hours of non-stop Gator Grips and Crawfish Crushes as Iowa’s top pop-punk group The Eugene Levy Band performs their hits.
  • Silent Club Sizzle –Club Sizzle is going silent! So, put on your headphones and dance off the bacon to one of three DJ’s while lights and lasers bounce off the walls.
  • Main Stage – Featuring music from Tyler Richton & The High Bank Boys, Not Quite Brothers and BYOBrass. Don’t miss the popular bacon-eating contest at 3pm sharp.
  • Outdoor Area – Weather permitting, there will be an area outside offering cooking demos, beverage concessions, bacon fellowship and an opportunity to enjoy some fresh air.
