Join us for a 4-session virtual course focused on nutrition, exercise, and how to be healthy on a budget. This course includes 1 lesson per week for 4 weeks and will be taught over zoom, so people from all locations across Utah are welcome to attend. This class is taught by Create Better Health, which is Utah's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) education program, so it is designed specifically for those who may qualify for SNAP benefits, but all are welcome to attend.
Lesson topics include:
- Introduction to MyPlate, Dietary & Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans
- Nutrition Facts Label, Overcoming barriers to physical Activity
- Meal Planning & Grocery Shopping, Increasing Consumption of Fruits and Vegetables
- Establishing Healthy Eating Patterns & Physical Activity Review
Each course includes healthy recipe demonstrations and helpful digital guides, and are held on Wednesday Evenings. This session will have a special focus on Back to School to encourage healthy habits and money saving hacks during a time of transition.
