Back to School Night: Sex Ed Edition is a special evening just for parents and caregivers to explore the all-ages sex museum—without the little ones so you can prepare for your next trip to the museum with them! This free event is designed to give grown-ups a chance to experience the Sexploratorium, an all-ages educational sex museum, so they can plan how to use the space and its resources to start age-appropriate, open conversations with their children about bodies, consent, identity, relationships, and more. Whether you're already having those talks or don't know where to begin, this night is for you! We especially welcome parents who home-school and are looking for thoughtful, inclusive tools and support!
Throughout the evening, guests can attend a series of short, engaging mini-lectures led by our knowledgeable educators to get a taste of the kinds of content and conversations we offer in the museum. These bite-sized sessions will cover topics like inclusive language, answering kids’ tough questions, and how to approach sex ed in a positive way. The goal is to empower adults with tools, language, and confidence—while also showing that learning about sex and relationships doesn’t have to be awkward or scary.
Local community organizations will also be on hand, offering resources, educational materials, and support around health, identity, parenting, and communication. And of course, snacks will be available to keep everyone fueled for learning and chatting. Come explore, connect, and take the first step toward more open, informed, and affirming conversations at home.
This event is FREE! Any donations will be used to help purchase snacks.
