Baby/Stuff, a new play reading

Join us for a special evening on Friday, June 6 at Busboys and Poets (at 14th & U streets, close to the U Street metro station) for the reading of a new play, Baby/Stuff. Be part of the creative process as we bring a new play to life.

Baby/Stuff is about how two couples confront death, birth and the complexities of friendship, climate change, parenthood, and career. How can they reconcile their friendship, values and becoming parents in a world that makes this so hard?

You may come for dinner and drinks in the event room (starting at 6pm), and order off the regular menu (food/drinks not included in ticket price). Show starts at 7pm and optional audience feedback session at 8:30 pm.

Written by Marisol Rosa-Shapiro and David A. Hindin.

Directed by Shana Laski

Produced by David A. Hindin

Actors: Karina Hilleard, Robert Bowen Smith, Renee Elizabeth Wilson, & Brock Brown.

Adult & children’s voice overs: Meagan B. Miller

Frequently asked questions

Can I still order food and drink if I come after 6pm?

Yes, we only ask that you not sit in the first row of tables closest to the stage if you order food after 6:30pm. You may order food and drink as late as 9:00 pm if you wish.

Where should I go as Bus Boys Poets has several rooms

You should go to the room with the stage and there will be tables available for you to sit at and order food and drink. You can eat anywhere you want in the restaurant, but easiest if you eat in the room reserved for our event.

Can I pay at the door?

We strongly prefer you pay in advance using Eventbrite. And we also encourage a donation to the Democracy Forward Foundation.
