Public Speaking workshop with Bofta Yimam

Saturday February 23, 2019

Noon - 2p.m

Maryland Public Television, 11767 Owings Mills Blvd, Owings Mills, MD 21117

How effective are your public speaking skills? The National Institute of Mental Health reports nearly 73% of Americans have some form of glossophobia -- speech anxiety caused by the fear of public speaking. This means a greater number of people fear public speaking more than death.

No matter your role on your job, in today’s multimedia newsrooms and media-related professions, we’re all expected to be ready to go on-air at any time. Let us help you breathe life into your on-air appearances, talking points, speeches, podcasts and more.

Join the Baltimore Association of Black Journalists Saturday February 23, 2019 at Maryland Public Television for our workshop entitled “Finding Your Voice.” Emmy Award-winning journalist, media personality, international speaker and coach Bofta Yimam will introduce ways to verbally get your message across in a 90 minute interactive workshop. Our general business meeting runs from noon until 12:20, followed by our workshop from 12:30 - 2p.m.

Lunch will be provided.

RSVP here to attend “Finding Your Voice” February 23, 2019.
