About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Join members of the UF/IFAS Extension, Leon County Master Gardener Volunteers, and Maclay Gardens Staff for our azalea pruning workshop. We will briefly discuss best practices for pruning azaleas and then put our knowledge to work by pruning, with supervision, azaleas in the park. Entrance fee to the park will be waived for registered participants, who can then walk the gardens once our work is done. Bring water and be dressed for active gardening work. Please bring pruners and/or loppers, if you have them. A limited number will be available for use. We will meet behind the Maclay House - enter the park gate and continue beyond the formal gardens entrance towards the Gardener's Cottage. Parking will be available at the Gardener’s Cottage parking lot. We will have signage to point you in the right direction.
