Join us for an evening with Nico Lang, a nonbinary, award-winning journalist and author with more than a decade of experience covering the transgender community’s fight for equality.
Nico will discuss their book American Teenager: How Trans Kids Are Surviving Hate and Finding Joy in a Turbulent Era, based on in-depth interviews with eight transgender teenagers; including, one from Alabama who share their stories of resilience, identity, and survival during these challenging times. Through these powerful personal narratives, the book offers an honest and compassionate look at what it means to grow up trans in America today.
About the Author
Nico Lang’s work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Esquire, The New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar, The Washington Post, Vox, BuzzFeed, Jezebel, The Guardian, Out, The Advocate, and the L.A. Times. Their reporting centers on LGBTQ+ issues, culture, and the ongoing fight for equality.
