Austin Poetry Slam Free 2nd Sundays Writing Workshop

Join us for an afternoon of creativity, inspiration, and community at our 2nd Sundays Free Writing Workshop, led by nationally recognized spoken word artist Christopher Michael.

In this hands-on session, Christopher guides poets through an in-depth exploration of national slam poems, breaking them down to uncover the techniques, rhythms, and emotional truths that make them powerful. Using these pieces as creative catalysts, participants will be challenged to craft their own original works; pushing boundaries, discovering new perspectives, and rekindling their artistic spark.

Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just beginning to explore poetry, this workshop offers a space to write, reflect, and connect with fellow poets. Expect to leave inspired, challenged, and re-energized.

About Christopher Michael:
Christopher Michael is a veteran of multiple National Poetry Slam competitions, a long-time coach and mentor within the Austin poetry community, and the founder of 310 Brown St., a publishing company dedicated to amplifying poets’ voices. With over two decades of experience performing and developing poets nationwide, Christopher brings humor, honesty, and a deep understanding of craft to every workshop he leads.
