Frequently asked questions

Is there an age restriction for ʻŌlelo's classes?

We teach students of ALL ages, from keiki to kupuna. However, minors who are 13 years of age or less have to be accompanied at all times by an adult and students who are below 18 years old need parental consent to take our classes.

Do I have to bring anything to class?

You don't have to bring anything. But since we are dealing with potentially heavy equipment, we ask participants to wear close-toed shoes. We also recommend to bring a long-sleeve shirt or sweater, in the case you are sensitive to low A/C temperatures.

What services are included in ʻŌlelo's membership?

ʻŌlelo members can check out professional production equipment for free (after passing the Basic Media certification test) and air non-commercial videos on ʻŌlelo's cable channels. Members also gain free access to edit bays and studio facilities (further certifications required).

Does ʻŌlelo offer any other classes?

ʻŌlelo's Education Services offer a variety of classes and training opportunities for youth, adults, and educators on Oʻahu. Visit https://olelo.org/education/ to find out more.

What is the cost of ʻŌlelo's membership?

ʻŌlelo membership is currently free for everyone.

Do I have to be an ʻŌlelo Community Media member to sign up for this class?

No, you don't have to be a member - but note that this class is specifically designed to provide students with the certification they need to check out ʻŌlelo's professional production equipment.
