The Same as It Never Was
Each element on earth follows its own rhythm – where time is not a straight line but a network of interconnected processes. In this joint exhibition, we explore how time and nature are intertwined and realising that everything carries the shape of what is yet to come. Two perspectives – one movement.Audrey Buerman works with cyanotype and natural elements such as sand, water, and sunlight. Living by the sea, she witnesses daily how the landscape shifts. Rising sea levels and the constant movement of sand make the fragile boundary between land and water tangible. Each work is a collaboration with nature: a trace of something that is never the same.
Geralda Odinot is drawn to empty, natural landscapes. In their vastness, she feels small – a sense of insignificance that puts the concerns of the modern world into perspective. In her latest project Gaia is here to stay, her images speak not only of nature’s cycles but also of our own fleeting presence within a much larger narrative.
Her choice for black-and-white photography, combining digital and analogue techniques, reinforces the timeless quality of her work. Some images are printed by hand as etchings; others she tears or creases, allowing the image to shape itself. Nothing is fixed. Everything shifts.
