About this event

Music • Pop

Lauded as pioneers of “Chi-Pop” (Indie R\&B/Pop), Attack the Sound (ATS) has become a cornerstone of Chicago’s vibrant music scene. Founded by Army veteran and current Chicago Firefighter Davo Sounds, ATS masterfully fuses jazz, hip-hop, blues, gospel, and rock—crafting a sound that’s as electrifying as it is smooth. Drawing comparisons to Leon Bridges, Black Pumas, and John Legend, the band delivers dynamic live performances that have earned collaborations with Isaiah Sharkey, Bianca Shaw, Taylor Bennett, and JC Brooks.

Their undeniable talent has carried them from Chicago stages to national television with appearances on ABC’s Windy City Live and WGN’s People to People. Their single Love is War—secured through a sync deal with Winding Way Records—has become both a musical and visual triumph. The Love is War music video swept the Midwest Film Festival, winning Best Cinematography, Best at Show and Judges’ Choice. In 2025, it extended its reach internationally, taking home Best International Short Film at the Power24 International Film Festival and earning an Honorable Mention at the WSXA Paris International Film Festival.

With additional selections at Music Video Fest 2025 (Love\:War and Wake Up Call) and screenings at filmmaker showcases, ATS has proven itself as more than a band—it’s a multi-dimensional creative force shaping Chicago’s cultural future.

Ahona M. is a Chicago-based singer songwriter. She's been performing in Chicago for the last seven years at various venues to share her songs. She writes music in hopes that it makes others think, care for each other, and feel seen & heard.
