Assemble 21+ Workshop: Progmming Zines with Lara Schenck

About this event
Let’s dip our toes into computer programming by way of...zines! We will program our zines with web languages, programming layout and style with HTML/CSS, and using JavaScript to code playful, optional enhancements into our content with text manipulation and text generation algorithms. After programming our zines, we will print and enhance them with traditional, physical "cut and paste" methods. Before you know it, the first edition of your zine is complete, and can be distributed both physically and digitally!
Assemble 21+ Workshop tickets include drinks, snacks and all project materials.
ABOUT LARA SCHNECK
Lara is an artist turned software developer. She loves learning about computer science, and shares her enthusiasm through speaking, writing, and at her day job at Penske Media Corporation, where she works on the software powering websites for brands like the Rolling Stone and Variety. Lara writes about her work and life on her blog and continues her art practice by way of illustration and zine-making.
