About this Event

Ever wondered what it’s like to work as a mechanical engineer for one of the world's largest oil and gas company? Come join us for this exclusive webinar with Benjamin Salmon, a Mechanical Engineer at Shell.

Ben is a Staff Wells Engineer for Shell Exploration and Production Company, supporting Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Operations. His primary field of specialty is Completion Operations- the discipline associated with preparing a wellbore to cost effectively, efficiently, and safely produce hydrocarbons. His 6 year career includes work on Drilling, Permanent Abandonments, Well Interventions operations in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as the Middle East. He has received multiple Shell Recognition Awards for his efforts to deliver business objectives through creative and collaborative problem solving. Ben is currently supporting the startup of a new Materials Office within deepwater to streamline and standardize completion equipment ordering and delivery.

Outside of work, Ben loves to play and coach soccer in his spare time. Recently married, he enjoys spending time outside with his wife and hopes to take a honeymoon in the near future. He holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Dartmouth College and a M.S. in Engineering (Mechanical Specialty) from Colorado School of Mines.
