About this event

AS+K? is a suicide prevention curriculum that:

  • Is intended to offer hope through positive action, not a form of counseling or treatment
  • Teaches the public to recognize the warning signs, clues, and suicidal communications of people in psychological distress and what action to take to prevent a possible tragedy

This particular curriculum teaches the following lifesaving skills:

  • Ask About Suicide: How to recognize suicidal risks, thoughts, and behaviors.
  • Seek More Information About the Individual: How to assess risk factors, warning signs, and protective factors
  • Safety First: How to establish appropriate measures to prevent the likehood of injury
  • Secure Access to Lethal Means: How to establish measures to prevent fatal inury
  • Refer, Refer, Refer: How and where to refer someone at risk to care

*Workshops are open to any interested individuals, businesses, faith based groups, professionals, or community groups. You may register individually or schedule an AS+K? workshop for your group. All participants will receive a certificate upon completion. Duration: 3 hours, Max capacity: 25 partcipants
