ARVAC AGM 2025 and launch of project 'Unfinished Business'
Overview
In 2028 ARVAC will be 50. We want to use this important landmark to do two things : firstly, to look back through a process of deliberate remembering why ARVAC was set up; its aims and values and its contribution to community based participatory research and secondly, we want to anticipate the future – what are the trends in policy and practice which impact on the success (or not) of participatory and community based research ; what is the context within which such work is taking place and how and in what ways might we shape that future.
We would like to extend an invitation to join us in this activity. We want what we produce to be freely available and to be produced in a way that encourages dialogue and conversation. We are thinking that sections of the book will be co-authored so that the dialogue is open and clear. We would, also, like to invite contributions for sections. We are thinking that creating a group to create this publication could be enhanced by at least three on-line conversations between everyone. We are planning dates over the next 12 months so that we can conclude the writing by the start of 2027. This is so we can share a draft of the publication with a wider reading group and draw on their insights and views in the final version.
We hope you will join us at the ARVAC AGM when we will be launching this initiative and we very much look forward to your involvement with us.
The event is free but you need to register so that we can send you a login for the meeting.
