Discover the benefits of having a strategic plan to proactively guide your arts venture forward. This practical and tactical hands-on workshop is ideal for individuals, collaboratives and organizations that want to develop their strategic planning vocabulary. If you are considering creating your own strategic plan or hiring a consultant this session provides the basics of what it takes to prepare and activate your planning process.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Discover what it means to "strategic plan"
  • Explore the difference between a strategic plan and a business plan
  • Determine the life stage of your arts business and prepare to evolve to the next stage
  • Conduct a SWOT Analysis to identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats
  • Utilize strategic planning tools and frameworks to start the journey
  • Identify resources needed for strategic planning: time, money, people, and energy

Participants will receive access to a Zoom video recording post-workshop.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

This workshop is facilitated by Amy Kweskin, Director of Professional Development at Intersection for the Arts. Additionally, Amy is Principal of Artsightful through which she provides consulting and coaching to share insights into the business of art. Her approaches to arts strategic planning are featured in the Center for Cultural Innovation's publication BUSINESS OF ART: AN ARTIST'S GUIDE TO PROFITABLE SELF-EMPLOYMENT (3RD EDITION).
