Artist Talk with Tricia Rainwater and Delphine Sims
Overview
Artist Talk with Tricia Rainwater and Delphine Sims
Join us for an exciting Artist Talk featuring our current Artist in Residence, Tricia Rainwater, in conversation with Delphine Sims, Assistant Curator of Photography at SFMOMA. This in-person event will take place at our beautiful SF Camerawork Gallery from 6–8 pm.
This program celebrates Rainwater’s debut solo exhibition, The Tellings We Keep, on view through November 29th. In this body of work, Rainwater explores themes of memory, landscape, and identity through her Choctaw heritage—blending photography, sculpture, sound, archival materials, and other natural elements to reflect on place, belonging, and the intergenerational transmission of knowledge and trauma.
Guiding the conversation is Delphine Sims, whose curatorial practice and research focus on photography, race, and representations of the American West. Her thoughtful approach to visual culture and deep engagement with contemporary photographers make her an ideal moderator to delve into Rainwater’s layered and evocative practice.
Get ready to be inspired by Rainwater’s creative process and artistic journey, and gain insight through Sims’ curatorial perspective. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect, learn, and be moved by their exchange.
