This event is to give local artists of all skill levels the opportunity to sketch from in-person specimens at the Ornithology Collections at the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville. There is no fee for the event or tour but parking is down the street at the Reitz Union parking garage for $8/day.
We will meet at 9am at the street entrance of the Research & Collections building at Dickinson Hall. The collections building is not on-site at the Florida Museum main campus.
The Ornithology Collections team will give us a tour and then we’ll have time to sketch specimens until 1pm. Afterwards, we may get lunch and coffee at SquareHouse Pizza at 405 SW 4th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32601
Anyone who has not signed up will not be allowed in. The capacity is strictly limited and we should be mindful of the space we take up with our bags and art supplies. We may be asked to leave our bags in another room while we tour the collections. Please do not bring any paint.
