About this event
Calling all visual artists: join the Center for Art Law's Artist Legacy and Estate Planning Clinic for an evening of low-cost consultations with attorneys, tax experts, and other arts professionals with experience in estate and legacy planning.
After a short lecture on a legacy and estate planning topic, attendees with consultation tickets artist will be paired with one of the Center's volunteer professionals (attorneys, appraisers and financial advisors) for a confidential 20-minute consultation. Limited slots are available for the consultation sessions.

The Clinic is scheduled for October 15, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM ET.
Schedule:
- 5:30 – 6:00 PM EST: Introductory Remarks
- 6:00 – 8:00 PM EST: Individual Consultations
The entirety of the Clinic will be hosted virtually on Zoom. The one-on-one consultations take place in breakout rooms to ensure confidentiality.

Who may register?
- All are welcome to attend and listen to the Introductory Remarks.
- The one-on-one consultations are suitable to any visual artist (or their representatives) interested in planning for their future estate and legacy that has concerns about the process as a whole or where to start.
- The Clinic best serves those attendees who have are seeking a first-time consultation with a specific professional (attorney, appraiser, financial advisor). If you already attended a session of the Legacy & Estate Planning Clinic, we encourage you to reach out to the professional you already met with (contact information is in the handouts distributed at the session).
How do I register?
- Pre-registration is mandatory and takes place through Eventbrite.
- You may purchase an Introductory Remarks ticket for $10 (plus taxes and fees).
- You may purchase a Consultation (Introductory Remarks included) ticket for $20 (plus taxes and fees). Eventbrite will prompt you to fill out a confidential intake form which will enable us to find you the assistance that you need.
- You will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite after you register. Eventbrite automatically sends the Zoom information 2 hours before the Clinic's start time.
How do I prepare for the Clinic?
- ´When filling out the intake form, please mention any specific questions or areas you need a consultation in. The information you provide in the order form will allow us to pair you with a Volunteer Professional who can best answer your questions and provide the most relevant insight, so please provide as many details as you can.
- You can prepare a list of questions and concerns you have about planning your estate to discuss during the consultation. They do not have to be related to the topic addressed in the Introductory Remarks.
What happens after the Clinic?
- The Center for Art Law will provide a handbook with additional resources on estate planning as well as the contact information of the Volunteer Professionals participating in the session.
- If you wish to pursue the conversation with your Volunteer Professional you should reach out to them directly! The Center is not responsible for facilitating conversations between the participants and the volunteers after the session.
