Join Museum Nectar for an intimate artist-led tour of Sacred Spaces with Jabari Jefferson on Saturday, December 20th, presented in collaboration with the Banneker-Douglass-Tubman Museum.

Featured in Ebony, The New York Times, The Washington Post, What’s Up? Annapolis Magazine, and more, Sacred Spaces brings together never-before-seen paintings, evocative sculptural works, and a large-scale community installation created with Annapolis students and residents.

Curator of Collections & Exhibitions Martina Dodd describes Jefferson’s newest body of work as:

“A powerful meditation on history, memory, and the enduring force of Black cultural spaces. By drawing parallels between the throwaway culture of fast fashion and the historic marginalization of Black scholarship, Jefferson reveals persistent systems of devaluation. His practice breathes new life into discarded materials while asserting the essential importance of Black intellectual and spiritual traditions.”

As we enter the holiday season, come reflect with Museum Nectar on our traditions, histories, and collective future.

A reception with light refreshments will be served after the tour.
