Artful Dodgers Poetry’s Come Word-Paint With Us on our Next Open Mic Canvas

On Sunday, November 30, at 2:30 p.m. EST you are invited to take some time away from planning to "borrow" a Picasso from the Louvre to join ARTFUL DODGERS POETRY for an afternoon, entirely virtual on this occasion, of post-post-modernist word painting or poetry in any style that might better suit you and the burning bright Tiger of William Blake. Let your imagination run wild as weeds in a suburban front yard before being slaughtered by a weed-whacker, a task routinely assigned to me by my father from his place on the stoop. Forgive me, dandelions of my youth.

Register through Eventbrite to win some time to read (we endeavor to accommodate everyone who requests it) and the virtual door prize possibility of a better-blind-than-sighted date with the Picasso model pictured above, optional but not advised, the sort of cubism gone wild dancer that even Toulouse-Lautrec would have shuffled away from. What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than to read with us or just listen, if that's your preference, thankful that you're not spending it dodging the glare of Medusa's second cousin as portrayed by Picasso.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Our inaugural 2026 reading, scheduled for Saturday, January 10th, from 2-5 p.m. EST, will be held at the Brooklyn Heights, New York, public library, a hybrid reading we enjoy quarterly in a welcoming space wired for sound and equipped with a drop-down movie screen to accommodate those who choose to join us virtually.
