Event description

Description

The David Brower Center is pleased to present Art/Act: Local - Sea Change, a new iteration of our annual juried exhibition of work by Bay Area artists. For the first time, this show features works by only five artists, based on their current portfolio, and includes at least one new work per artist, inspired by and addressing ocean conservation.

Sea Change examines the negative changes we are currently experiencing in the world’s oceans, and the positive changes we hope to achieve in the future.

The artists selected for Sea Change are photographer Barbara Boissevain, painter and printmaker Sukey Bryan, public environmental artist Lauren Elder, sculptor Ethan Estess, and printmaker Sarah Newton.

Please join us for the free opening reception, which features a panel discussion with all of the artists at 6:30 pm.

Art/Act: Local - Sea Change is made possible through the generosity of Amalgamated Bank, the Berkeley Civic Arts Program & Civic Arts Commission, and Panta Rhea Fund.

Special thanks to Front Porch Farm Wine and Gather Restaurant for providing wine and snacks!
