Art of Papercutting: Turkish Iznik Patterns Workshop at Craven Museum & Gal...

Part of the 'Faith in Art: a look at Contemporary Islamic Art in Britain' season, Craven Museum & Gallery in collaboration with the Muslim Museum Initiative presents a one day workshop on "Art of Papercutting: Turkish Iznik Patterns" by Maryam Golubeva.
This workshop is a great opportunity to learn new or progress your existing artistic skills, however no prior skill or experience is needed. Just bring your curiosity and creative spirit.
The workshop will include
- introduction to Maryam’s work
- history and origins of paper cutting art
- introduction to Iznik patterns and how it can be expressed via means of paper cutting
- production of an Iznik inspired design.
Artwork produced by participants will be exhibited as part of Craven Museum & Gallery's 'Faith in Art: a look at Contemporary Islamic Art in Britain' exhibition - Feb 5th to March 28th 2016.
Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Located in Skipton Town Hall, the Craven Museum & Gallery has impressive displays of social history, archaeology, costume and art. In collaboration with the Muslim Museum Initiative, Craven Museum & Gallery will be presenting workshops, courses and an exhibition, as part of a 'Faith in Art: a look at Contemporary Islamic Art in Britain' season - Jan to March 2016.
