Led by Sister Judy Fortune, this overnight retreat is a time to explore art journaling, which is a wholistic prayer form that integrates simple artistic expressions and written journaling in a contemplative space. No artistic skill is needed, just a heart open to divine invitations. Meals and materials will be provided, though we do ask that you bring your own journal.
Judy Fortune is a Sister of Mercy. She is currently retired, living in South Burlington, VT. Her ministries have included teaching in Mercy Middle Schools in Montpelier and Burlington. She obtained a Masters of Divinity degree at Weston School of Theology (Jesuit) in Cambridge, MA. She founded the Institute for Spiritual Development at Trinity College in Burlington, VT, where she trained spiritual directors. She served on the program staff at Mercy Center by the Sea as a Retreat Director and a trainer of spiritual directors until her retirement. She continues to use art journaling in her ministry of spiritual direction.
