Art Exhibition: Boundaries & Belonging

By QC Family Tree

Overview

This group exhibition explores how boundaries shape our sense of belonging and connect us within community.

Fall 2025 Resident Culture Bearers Showcase
Featuring Marquia Humphries, Ashaki Ali, and friday jones — alongside their mentors, Tiya Caniel and SAIGA.

Over the course of a 10-week residency beginning in September, the Fall 2025 Resident Culture Bearers—Marquia Humphries, Ashaki Ali, and friday jones—have explored the edges of identity, heritage, and community through their distinct creative practices.

Boundaries & Belonging is the culminating exhibition of their residency, presenting new works that explore how boundaries shape our sense of belonging and engage with how they define, divide, and ultimately connect us within community.

Inspired by the Enderly Park neighborhood, this exhibition examines how physical space can both challenge and nurture belonging. Through visual storytelling and interactive installations, the artists explore themes of displacement, resilience, and the ways belonging are formed and sustained through shared stories, spaces, and experiences.

Boundaries & Belonging encourages you feel, question, and imagine what it means to belong.
